Join the Movement: Empower Parents, Protect Education, Strengthen Communities
Across the country, parents are stepping up to reclaim their role in shaping local education. School District Parents Organizations (SDPOs) are grassroots groups formed by parents and community leaders to hold schools accountable, monitor school board activity, and advocate for transparency and academic improvement. These organizations empower parents to stay informed and engaged—by reviewing curriculum, attending board meetings, and ensuring age-appropriate curricula and library content.
SDPOs serve as both watchdogs and community builders. They support the election of parent-centered trustees, provide oversight on budgets and district policies, and help families understand and influence local education decisions. Just as importantly, they create space for parents to collaborate, share information, and support one another in navigating the complexities of the public school system.
If you care about what’s happening in your local school, want to protect your child’s education, or seek to connect with like-minded parents and leaders, forming or joining an SDPO is a powerful step. Your voice matters—when parents are informed, organized, and united, real change becomes possible.
